The Smith family is quite impressive. Dave and RuthAnn Smith have 8 awesome children. Their youngest daughter, Amanda, was my closest friend throughout high school. We were roommates while I was at college in Idaho too. I learned so much from Amanda and her parents that has influenced me to be a better person.
The past 5 or so years, Dave Smith has been the bishop of our ward at church. There are several gospel lessons he gave that I will always remember. I could feel the spirit when he would give counsel, and I know he was called of God. His wife, RuthAnn has always been an amazing lady in my life too. I love her so much! So do my boys. She served as the primary children's music chorister while her husband was the bishop.
Unfortunately, they are moving this week. We don't want to forget them. Landon will always be able to remember Bishop Smith was the bishop when he was baptized.
And Ethan and Landon will be able to remember Sister Smith who always encouraged them to sing out enough to raise the roof and also to sing with the spirit.
We went and got pictures taken with them after church and Sister Smith gave the boys a kiss on the cheek. Later, Landon said, "Mom, do you want to know what I never want to forget? I never want to forget that I got a kiss on the cheek from my music teacher."
I love people who make my children feel special.
ABAS was the Smith family motto, I learned from Amanda, that means "Always Be A Smith."
We will Always Be A Smith's friend!
