The Rest of the Floor Project

And now to see the progress and end result of the floor project.
It turned out so nice! I love the way the hickory wood looks on the floor. It feels like home! Kendall and the kids did such a good job!

Let the Floor Project Begin!

It's high time to get this carpet taken out of the living room. We can't wait to have beautiful wood floors! Seems like a great birthday gift.

New Shower

We got our new shower installed! It took some time to tackle the project. Getting it up the stairs and into the bathroom was quite the miracle. It is a one piece shower and tub. I am so excited about that fact because it should be a million times easier to keep it clean. While waiting for it's installation, we took a few trips to Grandma Church's house for baths and showers. So we are SO excited to have it in place and be able to hop in and get clean just up the stairs at our own house. We love it. Now, to get the finishing touches on the bathroom. That may take a few decades, so I am just going to enjoy this victory until then.

Chair Covers

For several years, Kendall and I have been battling with stains on our kitchen chair cushions. I forgot to take a before picture, but there was a cream white, textured material covering the cushions of these chairs. Well, we had plastic covers that just laid over the tops of the cushions, but they didn't do their job well enough. I was always cleaning up spills and stains off of the white cushions. Well, Kendall agreed to let me cover the chairs in a different and creative way so that we would no longer have to battle the stained cushions. (My good friend Erika inspired this wonderful idea.) At first, I was just going to cover the original material with thick vinyl, but then I came across this material that I LOVED and so this is the new look of our kitchen chairs. Wahoo! Easy to wipe up chairs!

The Time Has Come

Ready...
Get Set...
Paint!
Landon and Ethan are SO excited about their new room. If only those last tedious details would hurry up and be finished!

Pictures of the finished results are soon at at hand!

Remodeling

Ken and I have very ambitious imaginations. We are great at starting projects. The trick is time. Ken needs more. But boy, does he do a great job. We have decided to remodel one of the bedrooms upstairs for the boys. We're so excited. Whoever built our home, was very silly (I don't care what the style was back then) and installed very few ceiling lights. The light switches operate plug outlets, and so the brightest a room gets is from what light a little lamp can give off. My amazing husband, with his amazing brother for an assistant, have successfully installed a light, and much more since then. I am so excited for the boys to have a nice new room! I just can't wait for it to get finished!

Building Shelves

My amazing boys are building me shelves for the storage room.
Landon is so happy to have his own tools. He loves to work with Daddy.

Remodeling

Ken has taken on some projects around the house. First of all, he's finishing the basement. When it's finished, there will be a big game room, two bedrooms, a bathroom, and then the storage room. We're very excited. I'll have to post some pictures I have taken of his progress on that later. I wanted to show pictures of Ken tearing out the bathroom shower upstairs. We are remodeling this bathroom, and it's a good thing because we found mold! It was SO gross. See for yourself.
Luckily, Ken got the mold problem under control after tearing out all of the sheet rock, insulation, and everything.
So the shower and tub that will replace our last one is going to be so much fun! It's a steam shower with all sorts of cool features. You'll have to ask Kendall to know all of the details. All I know is that it's cool because Landon thinks it's cool.
If you hadn't noticed. Our tub was in our kitchen for a while, but don't worry, it's in the upstairs bedroom now. Ha-ha. Landon loved playing in the empty tub, but if he wasn't doing that, he was fixing supper.
We have the future bob sledding team for the Winter Olympics living at our house. Didn't you know that they used bathtubs to practice in? Just watch "Cool Runnings." Or maybe they're practicing to be NASCAR champions.
I tell you what...The cutest boys live in this house. I love it!
