Happy Halloween!
Halloween happenings were quite fun and eventful this year. It all started out with my birthday celebration. Ken took me out to eat Friday night and we had a peaceful night at home watching a movie while the kids had a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa Church's house. The kids all made me birthday cards, and Grandma Church made me a yummy cheesecake. My actual birthday was the same day as Bootiful Nauvoo's Pumpkin Walk. I got to sing Phantom of the Opera songs with Rick Marshall on the balcony of Zion's Mercantile. It was an amazing experience. I loved it. The next day was beggars' night. The kids looked so cute in their costumes and ended up with way too much candy. Happy Halloween!

It's Autumn Time
This has been an extremely mild autumn so far. This was the coldest day yet, but really not too bad. The corn behind our house has been harvested. That is one of the only signs of autumn around here. The leaves are turning, but the grass is still SO green and the flowers are still blooming. Here we go back outdoors!

Dirt
The dead spot in our yard, left behind by our swimming pool, has proven to be much more than an eye sore in our yard. It is providing hours and hours of fun for these kids. Since then, Ethan got a book about how to make volcanoes, including other science experiment ideas. After creating a volcano with his kit, we went out to the dirt spot and made a more realistic volcano. So much fun!

Soap Carving
Landon got his own pocket knife and is so excited. He learned about whittling in cub scouts. Here he is carving a whale out of soap. It turned out really good too! Sadie and Ethan got in on the fun too. What good, outdoor entertainment.
