Junk... the Best Jungle Gym

For a while, we had a giant mess in the living room. We had to haul a bunch of stuff off of the beautiful storage shelves Kendall built for me and put it all in the living room. Kendall is fixing our flooding basement, and he had to get to the wall that the shelves were on. So there for a while, we had all kinds of stuff in the living room. I have since moved it, but the boys had a blast making a mess of all of the junk every day. Kendall snapped these photos of Ethan trying to lift weights.
Then, I found Ethan laying on top of an upside down storage bin with Landon in front of it. They were having a "tickle meeting."

Our Wildlife

One thing I love about the area we live in is the wildlife. We get to see so many neat animals all the time. Kendall looked out the window and saw something running across the yard. When we went outside, we found this cute turtle. When I was younger, living in Texas, my brother Gary brought home some turtle eggs that he found at a golf course he worked at. We got to watch the turtles hatch from their eggs, and even keep a few. They were fun pets. This turtle was the same type we had, called a red neck slider, I believe. He was fast too!
We also get tons and tons of birds around our house. I got some pictures of a pretty dove and her babies. It made a messy nest on our porch, but the birds were fun to watch.
One day, I found the baby birds out of the nest and sitting on the porch railing.
They were so cute and fluffy.
I went closer to get a better picture and one of the birds flew away, but I caught a picture of it in the air. So cool.

A Typical Cake Decorating Day

Ethan, our little Mama's boy, is happy as long as Mommy is holding him. It doesn't matter how uncomfortable he looks.
And Landon is happy, as long as he gets some cake!

Watching Grandpa

Our adorable little Ethan watched Grandpa out the window while he grilled some burgers. You can see the back of Ethan's hair really well, and easily see how short his hair is now.
He's SO cute!

I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home

The boys get so excited when Daddy gets home from work. They run into the kitchen and give him hugs immediately. Ethan was hugging Daddy's legs while Daddy was giving Landon a hug. It was so cute. Of course, Ethan stopped what he was doing when I pulled out the camera.
This picture was actually taken on Father's Day. Ethan is getting to be so cuddly with his daddy.
We have the cutest boys in our house!

Landon's Birthday Party

We celebrated Landon's birthday the Sunday after his birthday. He was so excited. When he woke up Sunday morning, he said, "It's my party day!" Lot's of family came over for the celebration. We all ate some yummy homemade pizza that Kendall put together and then it was time for presents!
Landon loved all of his gifts, and he still talks about his birthday party, but for some reason, he looks kind of mad in some of the pictures. He was just pulling some silly faces.
He doesn't like to make a mess with the wrapping paper. He handed every piece he tore off to Grandpa Gallaher.
After he opened each gift, Landon would go show it to someone (usually one of his grandpas).
Landon got lots of great gifts, one of those gifts was his very own fire gear.
As soon as Landon got all geared up, he kicked off his fire boots and wouldn't put on his hat for a picture. I guess he was ready to see the rest of his presents.
Those huge buckets sure come in handy for keeping all of the toys in. They're fun for climbing into also.
There he is, showing his gifts to Grandpa Church.
Everyone enjoyed watching Landon open his gifts, including Ethan. Ethan liked to help open them. Great Grandma Gallaher brought something especially for Ethan so that he wouldn't feel left out. What spoiled, good, cute little boys we have.
Cake time!
Landon had been asking for months to have a Dora birthday cake. He likes to pretend he is crossing crocodile lake when he is playing. So he got a birthday cake with Dora and Boots crossing crocodile lake. He liked his cake. It's a good thing because it took me three days to put it all together.
Make a wish!
Happy Birthday Landon!
We sure love you.
