Zoo

On Labor Day, Daddy took the day off, and we went to the St. Louis Zoo. Although Landon wasn't feeling his best, we went anyway and Landon loved it. He would run to the fence of whatever animal we were looking at and reach out to the animals.
Landon recognized these guys as Melman from the movie "Madagascar."
One of these donkeys got upset about something and was making that funny sound that donkeys do, "He haw!" Landon was pretty interested in that.

We brought our amazing stroller to the zoo, but neither Landon nor Ethan wanted to ride in it. Landon ran around with Daddy while Mommy pushed the stroller with one had and held Ethan in the other.

Landon really enjoyed himself.

I didn't get too many pictures of the animals because my arms were full, but I did manage to take a few. I didn't get Landon's favorite ones though. He loved the lions and tigers.

After 3 hours of driving to the zoo and 3 more hours of walking around the zoo, they boys were pooped.

Ethan wants to come back next year when he can walk around a bit too.

Playing in Landon's Room

The boys love to play in Landon's room.
Landon is so creative. He took his blocks and made a train track out of them.

Ethan loves to do whatever Landon is doing. He watches Landon very closely.

5 Months

Ethan is 5 months old!
He is the sweetest little baby. We don't know what we ever did without him in our family. He is growing so much. He can almost sit up without support, but he's still a bit floppy. He holds onto toys really well. He loves to play peek-a-boo, preferably with Landon. Landon is good at making Ethan laugh. Ethan definitely has his own personality. He likes baths, unlike Landon ever did. He has his own unique cry. Landon's has always been SO LOUD that every time he cried I thought something was horribly wrong with him. Ethan's cry is so much quieter, but is such a sad sounding cry. He gets little tears that stream down his cheeks when he cries; it's heart breaking. He keeps pretty happy though. His older brother, Landon is getting good about playing and sharing with him. Ethan loves Landon more than anything! Ethan is also so handsome! He gets so many compliments. For example: we went to the zoo on Labor Day and an older couple walked by us. The old man stopped to look at Ethan and said, "Beautiful, just beautiful." It's so true. Just see for yourself.

We decided that for Ethan's 5 month birthday, we would let him have his first try of food. He has been begging for a while now. He gets so upset when we're all eating dinner and he can't have some. I think he's pretty satisfied that he gets to eat food now too.
Here he is playing with Landon's train waiting to be fed.
He loves food!

Like Father, Like Son

Last Christmas we got Landon a miniature NASCAR race car, but he has only been able to drive it back and forth in the hallway. We decided to take it outside, and he had the best time! He loved that he had a car just like Daddy's go-cart. Both boys were driving their cars around the back yard.

August Happenings

CAUTION:
There are tons of random pictures!
This month has been a busy one, and so I have neglected to post like usual. So sit back, relax, and enjoy what the boys have been up to this past August.
Ethan is really growing and showing more of his personality.

He's so handsome; we can hardly handle it!

Ethan has decided that he will only sleep in his swing. We are going through D batteries like crazy around here!

Ethan is pretty good about playing in his jumperoo, but he prefers to have Landon near by.
It's a good day when Landon will share and not hit his brother. Landon put some cars on the jumperoo for Ethan to play with. I love it when he's sweet.

There is nothing better than to see little sleeping babies.
Landon likes to watch movies from the stairs sometimes.
Ethan still has those amazing wide eyes!
Here is Landon enjoying a movie. He does a lot of that now.
Other than movies and trains, Landon LOVES stickers. Great Grandma Gallaher is so nice to get Landon stickers, and Landon doesn't let them go to waste! He has one on this neck in this picture.
He never gets tired of Thomas the train. He wanted me to take this picture.
Oh those hands. Ethan LOVES his hands!

Here is our little food lover.

And here is our little food lover with a blueberry on his back side.
Landon got the idea to have Ethan try on his sun glasses. What a stud!

Ethan loves to play. I think he gets frustrated that he can't do everything that Landon can do. We try to make it easy for him to reach and play with the toys.

Notice Landon inside of the tunnel. He can't stand for Ethan to be having any fun. He has to be a part of everything. Silly boy.
Both Grandma and Grandpa Church and Grandma and Grandpa Gallaher have gone on Alaskan cruises recently. Landon is enjoying a train book from Alaska and wearing a train shirt from Alaska.

Poor Landon and Ethan were sick for like 2 1/2 weeks with nasty runny noses. Poor boys.
Sweet little Ethan.
Daisy had quite the experience. Kendall was using the weed eater a few weeks ago. Daisy always barks her head off, but keeps her distance. Well, she decided to attack it, and got herself pretty battered. She's fine now, but you can kind of see on her nose where it got her. She'll never try that again.

Landon had a little bit of success on the potty. It's been a couple of weeks now though, and it hasn't happened again. In due time. He came to me in the kitchen with nothing on and held his diaper up to me. Then, he said, "Poo poo? Poo poo on potty?" So we ran into the bathroom. He kicked me out and slammed the door. The next thing we knew, the potty chair was singing! He was so excited. He went pee pee on his potty!
This is the life!

Ethan likes to stick out his tongue all the time now. So cute!
He's also a pro at blowing spit bubbles.

I gave Landon another hair cut. Actually, I buzzed it. This is a before shot. The rest of the pictures show off his new look. I think it makes him look even more like Daddy.
Landon used to always eat the center of Oreos and leave the cookie part for me. He's discovered that Oreos are Milk's favorite cookies!

Landon likes to be the baby. He wines like a baby all the time now. He always has to play with the baby toys and sit in the baby seats. Here he is in the baby's bassinet.
This is Landon crying like a baby.

Here is the real baby though. He's still getting used to using his little hands. He got this ring stuck on his face and couldn't get it off.

The best part of every night is when Daddy comes home and sits and watches movies with us. Landon loves his time with Daddy. Poor Daddy is always pooped!
It's been a long month.
