I Love to Eat, Eat, Eat!

You can tell from this cute grin that Landon is enjoying one of his favorite pastimes.
Which would be... eating. He LOVES to eat!

Oh What Do You Do in the Summer Time?

One of Landon's great birthday gifts was his alligator swimming pool from Uncle Todd, Aunt Sue, and Taylor. Here he is checking it out! He had fun just soaking up the sun. It took a while to get used to the water. It was a bit cold at first. Daisy dog enjoyed having company in the back yard.

Soft

Ken went and got Landon out of bed the other day, and this is what he found. Landon, I guess, tried to take off his shirt. That isn't the best part though. Ken said that when he found him, Landon was rubbing his bare belly while saying "dost, dost." (soft)

Birthday Celebration

The night of Landon's birthday, Ken's family, including Great Grandma and Grandpa Gallaher, and we went to eat at Hotel Nauvoo. It was a great birthday dinner! Great Grandma even told the waitresses to bring Landon a cupcake and have them sing happy birthday to him. He watched those girls close, and then he enjoyed making a mess of the cupcake.
After everyone was through eating, we went out to the parking lot, and Grandma and Grandpa pulled out a surprise! Landon absolutely loves his John Deere now.
Most of the celebrating actually happened on the 4th of July. Lots of the family came over and helped us celebrate Landon's 1st birthday. Grandma Gallaher made Landon such a memorable birthday cake. It was a choo choo train! The tracks are made out of black licorice. Everyone was amazed at her talent. Thanks Grandma Gallaher!
After everyone ate and admired the cake, it was time to sing to Landon. He was getting very sleepy, so he didn't do much digging into his cake. In fact, he just poked it a few times, licked his fingers and then picked up his piece of cake and threw it on the floor. He was ready for his nap.
Before we headed into the living room to open presents, we decided to have Aunt Sue give Landon his first haircut. Todd said Landon was so lucky not to have to have his first hair cut from his mom like most kids, he got to have "Simply Sue!" She did a great job! The haircut went rather well. Landon kept himself happy by chewing on Sue's comb. He was completely happy until it was time to take the apron off. Then, he turned to tears for his after shot.
Luckily the next event was to open presents. Landon was so tired so he didn't go crazy over ripping the paper open, but once he saw what came out of each package, he wanted to play with that present right then, and wasn't too worried about opening anything else. Mom ended up doing most of the unwrapping.
After a long nap, Landon woke up and enjoyed playing with all of his fun toys. That night he got to go to bed in his new Fireman PJ's! What a lucky one year old boy...and a handsome one too!

The Past 2 Months

As you can see, I haven't posted anything for quite a while. But you will soon see everything you have missed out on in our lives. Well, mostly Landon's. So sit back and relax with a bowl of popcorn because this may take a while to get through.
Landon is quite the little boy. He has just about figured out everything to do that I don't want him to do. One of his favorite places to get into mischief is the bathroom. Unfortunately for me, the door doesn't shut right, and so Landon will just pound on the door until it unlatches. He always thinks he needs to blow his nose...or something.
Landon's other favorite place to make a mess of is my closet. He pulls my nicely folded clothes off of the shelves and then climbs and jumps on the piles.
The safest place for Landon to hang out is in his own bedroom. At least in there, the mess is just toys, and I can live with that a lot easier. Besides, his adorable little personality just makes up for the messes and the constant running around he makes me do. I love this boy!
One of Landon's favorite things to do is imitate Daisy. Whether it be barking, breathing in and out heavily with his tongue sticking out, or shaking toys around while holding them in his mouth.
And when Landon isn't imitating Daisy, he's playing with her. He loves to throw her toys for her...and give her rides in her bucket by pushing her around in it.
Landon LOVES to push things. The hippo push toy is one of Landon's FAVORITES! He would push it around all day if he didn't get frustrated about not being able to turn it around after bumping into the wall.
Landon's played with a friend (Devon) for the very first time. The two boys did what Landon enjoys best. Looking out his bedroom window. His window looks out the backyard where Daisy plays.
I just want to point out Landon's feet. He normally sits with his little feet crossed over one another. I think everything he does is cute.
Landon got a really cool outfit from Grandma and Grandpa Gallaher. They brought it home from the Bahamas last summer, and now it fits! I'm proud to be a Bahama Mama!
During the Memorial Day weekend, our little family drove out to South Carolina to visit Uncle Allan, Aunt Allison, Uncle Craig, and Aunt Joanna. Landon had a blast! He especially loved all 5 dogs at their house! What a fun weekend get-away.
Allison's brother has a couple 4-wheelers so we all took turns riding on the trails behind his house.
Landon  had fun playing with his COOL Uncle Craig. He also loved handing the dog the water bottle.
Landon keeps everyone on their toes. Uncle Allan had to keep a hold of the TV tray so Landon wouldn't pull it down on top of himself.
Landon was sad to have to leave his Aunts and Uncles in South Carolina, but we were all so excited to get to visit. Craig has some cute pictures of Landon posted on his blog. I seriously need to get a camera like Allan's. It's amazing!
On the drive home it was quite the task to keep this boy entertained for all the hours of driving, but we made it! His bear was about the only thing that would keep Landon happy. Good thing we brought it along. He loves to hug his stuffed animals and say "Doh Dost," which means "So Soft."
After the trip to SC, Landon got ear infections and was sick for about 2 weeks. We found out he's allergic to Amoxicillin because he got little tinny spots everywhere! But once he was all over his rash and ear infections, he was back to normal: playing in the kitchen, and doing tricks. Landon likes to stand on his head and look between his legs. He can also drink his sippy with no hands!
Landon loves to dance and lead the music. One of his favorite books plays music.
Two Saturdays ago, Ken's parents got a hotel room in Burlington so that they would be able to get to work after the bridges closed from the Mississippi flooding. The hotel they got had a swimming pool, so we all went out to eat and then went swimming afterward. It was Landon's first time to swim. He was a bit cautious and afraid for a while, but toward the end, he started to warm up to the idea of being in the pool. He was so cute in the pool. He would clap his hands and then be so confused how he got water all over his face. Unfortunately I forgot to bring to camera to the pool.
In the living room, Kendall and I left things we bought the night before on the floor that still needed to be put away, and Landon had a blast climbing on everything!
Lucky for me, Landon is now finally taking pretty good naps during the day. It finally gives me the chance to run and pick up the house and hopefully keep up on my blog better now. He even fell asleep while he was eating his lunch.
So good news! Landon took his first steps! He's getting way good. Ken said that he had Landon in the cultural hall at church, and he walked half court!
Just a few other things Landon has accomplished in the past two months.
His first word: Daisy
Other things he can say: "oof oof" (inspired by Daisy), "hah hu hah" (inspired by Daisy), "Awww," "Doh Dost" which is sometimes now "So Saw" (which means "so soft"), "uh oh" (which sometimes comes out "uh uh oh," or "uh ooo." ), "what's this?" (while pointing his finger).

Landon can also climb the entire flight of stairs. He has figured out buttons and pushes any button he sees. He brushes his teeth, and his hair. He knows just about how everything is supose to work, he just can't quite do everthing yet. For example, he tries to put on his shoes and socks, take off his shirt and pants, reach and open the doors by the door nob. He's a genius, and soon, I won't be able to keep up! Landon is the GREATEST!
