7 Weeks Old

Making Dinner

The boys helped make chicken and broccoli casserole. Ethan mixed all of the ingredients and Landon made croutons for the top. They were so excited to eat it, but once it was done, neither one of them thought it looked very good. At least they had fun cooking!

Beautiful Baby

We Have a New Cousin!

We have a new baby cousin! Her name is Juliana, and we can't wait to meet her.

Sadie has been sleeping unusually well for a baby her age; I have not complained. But, the night Juliana came, Sadie did not sleep so well. Perhaps she knew her cousin was coming and she was too excited to sleep. That's the story we'll tell! When she was first pregnant, Sarah told me that she thought she was going to have a little girl because our girls were in heaven together and wanted to come down at the same time. Sarah and Matt were both right about having a baby girl! We have not seen Juliana yet, but we are looking forward to meeting her in person!

I'm hoping our sweet new girls from heaven can be special little friends.

Amazing Big Brother Landon

6 Weeks Old

Sadie turned 6 weeks old! It was also her first day to go to church. Landon was especially anxious to bring her there. It turned out to be a pretty good experience. The boys squished next to me on the church bench (one boy on each side of me) so that they could be close to baby Sadie. They are so proud of their little sister. Because the kids were so good looking, I had to get their picture taken. The boys each insisted on having their picture taken with Sadie alone before they all got in the picture together. I was only going to post the best posed pictures one here. Then, I realized I might want to remember how much fun it is to get a "good picture" where everyone is happy and all looking at the camera without pulling goofy faces. A few of these are pretty silly, but oh so cute!

Best Friends

Landon and Ethan have grown up with these cute neighbor friends. They are talking about moving and our boys will be so heartbroken. They all play so well together. They are great friends!

 

 

 

Smile

I think I saw Sadie's first real smile!

FLower Canopy

Sadie was just looking adorable, like normal, and so I set her under her cute flower canopy for a picture. The canopy is hanging in her bedroom above her big girl bed.

Homework

As soon as the boys walk in the door after school, Landon sits down and finishes his homework so that he can play the rest of the day. Ethan's pre-k class is working on learning some letter sounds now and so he has been coming home with "homework" too. He is so excited that he has homework like Landon, and now he gets to sit next to Landon while they both work on homework. Such good students.

Just So Cute

In the Bumbo

Sadie is beginning to feel okay with being set down. She can keep these toys in her hand for a little while, though don't think she realizes what she is doing. She does seem surprised by the noise they make when she jingles them though. I love her wide eyes. She and Ethan have such BLUE eyes.

 

 

5 Weeks Old

Here is beautiful little Sadie, 5 weeks old. She is definitely more aware of her surroundings and is starting to focus in on our faces now when we talk to her. I do believe I saw her first real smile just a couple days before she turned 5 weeks old. She smiled at Mommy and started cooing. Oh man she is so adorable! I can't believe how big she is getting. Most of her newborn sized clothes are too small now. I can't believe how fast it all happens. I have been doing all I can to enjoy her sweet newborn baby characteristics. I love everything about her: the way she smells, the cute little faces she pulls when she stretches, the little squeaky sounds she makes, her wide eyes when she gets startled. She is just so breath taking. She is our little angel baby!
