Pretending

I don't really remember what these boys were pretending, but the pictures are rather entertaining. I love every moment I spend with these boys, and I love that they are best friends with each other. They make life exciting!

Good Book, Awesome Daddy

There's nothin' like a good book, and there's nothin' like a good Daddy either.

Pancakes and Blueberries

Pancakes and blueberries are irresistible in the Gallaher house.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Ken and I have been married for 5 fabulous years!

It is hard to believe that we have been married for five years! I wanted to do something amazingly special for Kendall, but all my amazing plans never seem to cooperate with me. While trying to put my amazing ideas together, I came across some papers I wrote in high school that I think Kendall might get a kick out of. The first is about his shop, Vick Uptown Service. The second is a paper I wrote about my Junior Prom happenings. Then, Landon and Ethan were so happy to help me make something for Daddy. We stamped their hands; five little fingers for five fabulous years.

VICK'S UPTOWN SERVICE
Vick's Uptown Service is a place where a great ration of my time is spent each afternoon. Though it is an odd place for any girl to be, it is where I, after a lengthy day at school, enjoy being most. I know the place well and am able to sketch it into the minds of many.
Located in the center of Mulholland Street is the exhausted blue and yellow building. It consists of a small office with a large two-door garage linked onto the side of it. Vick's is an industrious place with cars of all shapes, sizes, and conditions lingering around the parking lot. Gradually, vehicles leave, but only to be replaced with more cars, trucks, lawn mowers, or even bikes.
Behind tall, freshly cleaned Windows is the office. It may be a tight squeeze, but when the room is observed, there is no need for an explanation. Shelves stand against paint- peeled wall space except, of course, where the desk is located. Find a bare shelf, and what a surprise! Shelves are loaded with miscellaneous items ranging from car batteries, rags, mail, food, sea shells, to anything else thinkable. The desk, though, is the climax of the room. Upon the desk is a desktop, surely, but beyond the grease and objects, it is hard to recover. The computer and its flat screen monitor take up some space. Then, there is a keyboard among the sprawled out sticky notes, pencils, light bulbs, and tools. Two different telephones are included amidst the treasured junk, and one repeats a silly message saying,"You can call me if you want to!"
To the right of the desk is a door that leads into the shop. Within the grease filled walls of the shop, behind the garage doors, is action. Tim the Tool Man Taylor, if he knew of their existence, would be the first to lay his hands upon the variety of power tools that decorate the place. The shop is filled, literally, with millions of mechanical equipment. Kitty litter is piled over oil spills on the cement floor. Cars are hoisted into the air upon a unit called a lift. Their parts are exposed while a drop dead gorgeous mechanic in a blue suit does his handy work. If there is any need to describe Vick's any further, I would never be able to do it because it all stops there for me.
It is odd, but easy to see why a girl would know so much about a place like Vick's Uptown Service. Though sordid and confusing, a drop dead gorgeous mechanic can disguise the scene and transform it into the place where a great ration of my time is spent each afternoon.

PROM
For prom, most girls spend hours upon hours pampering themselves from head to toe. First, they spend weeks sitting in a tanning bed in order to give their skin the right pigment to fit the color of their gown. Then, they have their nails and hair professionally done at a salon. Next, they spend the proper amount of time it takes to transform their face and hair to fit the complexion of a Barbie Doll. Finally, they slip on their drop dead gorgeous gown, which they spent a couple hundred dollars on, and wait for their tall, dark, and handsome date to pick them up. I, on the other hand, was not the ordinary girl for my junior prom.
On occasion, I am the spontaneous type of person. This particular day, the day of my Junior Prom, I acted upon my spontaneous compulsion. I thought, "It won't take me long to do my make-up and put on a dress." Sitting for hours perfecting my looks did not sound appealing to me. Instead, I called up my date, Kendall, and asked him if he would like to go four-wheeling. Of course, he agreed because he always gives me my own way. What a sweet guy. Well, we were doubling with another couple, Chris (Ken's best friend) and Emily. Naturally, I invited them to come along, and surprisingly, they both agreed to join the fun.
We left fairly early in the day, all dressed in our dirty best, but I managed, somehow, to wear my best tennis shoes. Kendall tried to offer me some of his ugly boots, but I decided to face the consequences. Besides, how can you get dirty going four-wheeling? Well, we loaded ourselves into Ken's truck, along with the monster four-wheeler in back. We finally arrived at Kendall's grandparent's property, and my nerves were jumping out everywhere. I could not wait!
Kendall and I were the first to ride the four-wheeler. After we figured our turn was up, we turned the time over to the others. Emily and Chris proved my "stay clean" theory wrong. Emily was spotted with mud, and Chris had chunks of it in his hair. They discovered it was quite entertaining to drive through the ditches where all the water from the rain had gone. Kendall said we could beat them when it came to getting dirty, and so we did.
Everyone knows what gravel roads are like when it rains, but do they know what a plain dirt road is like? This was more like a mud road. It was the brownest mess I have ever laid my eyes on, and somehow, I desired to be a part of it. Kendall threw on his evil grin and took off. I have never experienced such pleasure in beating someone before. We were determined to win the dirty contest. Mud flipped up as the wheels spun on the road, forming a fountain that we seemed to be caught in. I pretended to be scared and hugged Kendall around his waist with all my might and screamed! Guess who won?
It was getting pretty late, and everyone needed to wash up for the dance. Emily had a hair appointment, and so we rushed her back home. The boys dropped me off next, and I had to face the task of making myself presentable. I shampooed my hair three times and finally got the mud out of it, but I kept finding mud in my ears, nose, and toes. I think I finally freed myself from it all, so I rushed to finish getting ready. My sister, Lisa, styled my hair in one minute and fixed my make-up in another. I slipped on my friend's prom dress, some fun flip-flops, and I was ready to go. I waited for my tall, dark and handsome Kendall, and then we went and had a memorable night.
All the girls looked like Barbie Dolls, but I felt like one after I cleaned all that mud off. Besides, why do I have to look like a Barbie Doll when I already am one? After all, my date was with Ken.
Happy Anniversary Kendall! I hope you enjoyed this little blast from the past as much as I did. I love you!

Waaassuuup?

Ethan had the brilliant idea to start using his pull-ups, but not exactly the way Mom and Dad intended. Landon loved Ethan's awesomeness and joined in. What a pair of cool dudes!

Swinging in Suits

We've had some crazy summer heat! The boys have loved hangin' out in their swimming suits.
Ethan always stops to pick flowers.
Ethan wanted Daisy to smell the pretty flower.

Can We Fix It? Yes, We can!

Landon and Ethan work so hard with Dad. While Dad works on projects out in the garage, Landon and Ethan are working on projects of their own.
Here they were building a house for flies, so they said.

Look Up Computers

Apparently this was no ordinary junk mail. Landon has held onto this particular paper for quite some time. Actually, it isn't a piece of paper at all, it's a "look up computer." It is just like Daddy's! Daddy is always pulling out his lap top saying he's got to look something up. Landon and Ethan catch onto everything Dad does.

Landon pulls out his "look up computer," opens it up and begins typing. It's very, very important.
Ethan decided that he had better invests in a "look up computer" too.
More work is accomplished when two geniuses, like these two, work together.

CANDY BALL!

Landon and Ethan have enjoyed going to the public pool in Hamilton with Mommy, but when we haven't gone out there, we've had our own amazing pool in the back yard to play in. Unfortunately, the ring on the side popped, so no more pool for us. It was super fun while it lasted!
Ethan always has that tongue out, especially when he is swimming on his tummy.
Landon is one cool kid. He'll let you know that boys are cool and girls are pretty.
The most exciting part about the pool and the boys' new trampoline is that they can run and jump while yelling ,"CANDY BALL!" (AKA: cannon ball)
